The time has come. I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to serve
a mission, it has changed my life forever. It has solidified my course
of who I will become. I have learned about myself and my relationship
with God. I have learned to love others, serve them, and teach the
gospel. I know that as we set goals, we can achieve them. It is
important to have a purpose.
My homecoming talk will be on August 21st with an open house later
that evening.
I will talk briefly about my week then finish with my testimony.
Investigators: Our investigators made it tough until the very end.
Cancelling appointments so they could play soccer down the street. We
had a great, powerful lesson with Arti and shared a promise with her
that we felt inspired to share. It was a promised blessing she would
receive from our Heavenly Father if she came to church. She did not
fulfill that commitment. Overall our investigators are good but they
just need to commit. Agency is tough but it cannot be taken away. I
love them and hope and pray that they will do what is necessary to be
baptized and progress towards the temple.
Members: We had some good less active lessons this week. We had a
great branch party on Saturday night! Members in the branch and the
ward are great! I will miss them a ton! They are very loving and I am
grateful for their love, support, compliments, and advice.
End of Mission: It hasn't really hit me yet. Just mixed emotions but
nothing too powerful yet.
I would like to finish with my testimony. I know that God lives and
loves us. I know that he sent His Son, to atone for our sins. I know
that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. I know that as we
have faith in Him and His atonement, repent of our sins, be baptized,
receive the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end, we can receive eternal
life in the kingdom of Heavenly Father. I know that there is one way,
and that is as we follow Jesus Christ. I know that this is the church
of the Lord and He directs it, just as this is His work directed by
Him. This work is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of
man. I am so grateful I have been able to serve as a full time
missionary in this service. My mission has set me on a course and
prepared me for my life to come. I love the Lord, His work, His
church, His children, and His gospel.
And to quote Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7,
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith"
Love,
