Groundbreakings and BBQs

This week was really good!

Monday: We had a good pday! We got all the necessaries taken care of
then we went to play sports. It was really nice because I got to throw
the frisbee around with another missionary for a while. Later, we did
some more visits to finish up the directory. we finished the night
with a visit to a recent convert that doesn't think its important to
go to church ever Sunday, WRONG! Christ wants us to go to church!
Thats the only way we can partake of the sacrament!

Tuesday: We had service at the food bank that went really well. We
then finished studies. After studies, we went to visit Mario. He has
been listening to the Book of Mormon on disc because he can't really
see. After, we had a lesson with Ivan, another recent convert. It went
well then we had dinner at home. Then we had a great lesson with
Penelope. He mom is a member but hasn't been to church in a while.
They are progressing really well! We have a date set for Penelope's
baptism on November 7th.

Wednesday: We had a great day! Great meeting with the zone then a
district meeting about church attendance. Then we went as a zone to
lunch to get Sonoran Dogs. We finished our studies then biked around
our area trying to visit people, nothing stuck. Later, we had dinner
at the apartment then the stake volleyball game. Our branch won again!
we are 4-0! We had great members there helping us!

Thursday: Food bank again! We then had studies then a lesson with Ivan
and his mom. After dinner with Penelope's family, we had a great
lesson with them about The gospel of Jesus Christ and the steps we
need to follow here on earth.

Friday: We had planning then a bunch of service lined up to help the
stake set up for the BBQ. They got done with everything so fast! We
then tried visiting some potentials and some other people of interest.

Saturday: Groundbreaking! WE watched a feed of the event in the stake
center. I was glad too because it rained a bit during the event. It
was great to hear from President Uchtdorf, Elder Richards (Of the
Seventy), and Elder Robbins (Of the Seventy). I cannot wait for the
temple to be constructed! After, we had studies then the Stake BBQ. It
was so good! We helped a lot and I got to help with the Cotton Candy
machine. I didn't eat ANY Cotton Candy!

Sunday: Studies then church. Church went really well and Xavier came!
He is Penelope's cousin that is a member but went away rom the church
or a bit. He is turning his life back around and is doing super well!
Later, we had a great lesson with Penelope and her mom, Isabel. It is
great to see Penelope learning so well. It is also great to see Isabel
remembering so much!

I hope you all are doing well! Please keep sending letters! Have a great week!

Love,
Elder Dallin Baker
