Status Update from God and Jesus Christ

So on Saturday and Sunday we had General Conference. A semiannual meeting of talks by leaders of the church. The topics are not assigned but are by personal revelation, or guidance and direction from God. As in the Bible, Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." Or in Doctrine and Covenants 1:38 "...whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." It is God telling us what we need to know and do for the next six months; hence, a status update.

Monday: We did some laundry and studies. We did not go to the store though, we have no money. We have had to use a lot to clean the apartments and move and stuff. President knows and we have food so we are fine for the next 2 days. We played sports with other missionaries and it was fun. We played chair soccer. After, we ate dinner at home and then taught english to a couple.

Tuesday: Food Bank! It has really saved us this month. When we help out, they give us some food. After, we did studies and it turned into a true companionship study. Elder Wilstead studied me. We made preparations for the fireside for later that evening. President Passey came and spoke but it was a small turn out due to poor communication. But it was really good and uplifting for all who attended.

Wednesday: We had a nice district meeting on miracles. Miracles come by our faith in God. After, we had lunch then went finding with the Sisters in our area. We were taken out to dinner to a Chinese buffet. It was actually really good! Then there was the stake volleyball activity. Our branch won again! We are 2-0. Not many people showed up though.

Thursday: Service at the Food Bank then some studies. We then went and did an hour or two of finding. We met this really cool guy that is a recent convert in the English congregation. It was nice to meet him and talk with him for a bit. We then had an appointment with Ivan, a recent convert of our Spanish branch, then dinner. After dinner we had a great coordination meeting with a really awesome member!

Friday: We had normal studies then we went finding for a couple hours. We met a lot of single women so those are going to the sisters. After we had a very interesting appointment with a man that married a member. He kind of vented/unloaded on us. But then we had dinner at home then went to a baptism.

Saturday: General Conference! Literally all day. We fit studies in between sessions and eating. It was amazing to hear all the wonderful talks! I cannot wait to be able to study them in the coming weeks.

Sunday: General Conference! We watched it with the branch and had lunch with the branch in between the morning and afternoon sessions. It was really nice. We then visited and met some people and taught a great lesson to a new family!

Hope you all have a great week! Stay safe and follow the prophet!

Love,

Elder Dallin Baker
