2 Car Accidents, but Not Mine

So just to not hold the suspense too long, I am safe and I am a safe driver. I did not get in an accident. An investigator was in 2 car accidents in 1 month.

PLEASE SEND LETTERS!!!

So I just want to focus on 4 events this week.

1. The Temple. We were able to go to the temple this past Tuesday! It was amazing! I didn't realize I missed that peace until I walked inside. It has been a stressful past couple of months. The temple was amazing though! I love the beauty and spirit that makes the temple what it is. We learn from the Spirit of God about who we are and why it is important to follow the gospel. We learn more about how God loves us and everyone else! Just being on the grounds outside the temple is amazing too! Definite high point of the week and a good rejuvenation.

2. My Training. So on Wednesday at Zone meeting I gave a training. I was asked to train on the topic "Teaching the doctrines of the Word of Wisdom and Law of Chastity clearly and effectively". It was great and it went really well. When you understand that the Word of Wisdom is more than just 5 things we can't take or drink, it is the Disciple of Christ Code of Health. It talks about what we should eat, what we should do to take care of our bodies, then the blessings we receive if we take care of our bodies. It's kind of like a rental car, it's not yours so you take good care of it. Our bodies are on loan from God. Then the Law of Chastity. It is not just no sex before marriage, it is the Disciple of Christ Code of Conduct. On top of staying sexually pure, we keep our thoughts, words, and actions clean and pure to bless the lives of others.
So then like 2 days ago, Sister Munk and Quiñonez gave us a call. They are the Sisters we work with here in Douglas. They said they had a great lesson teaching the Law of Chastity and the Word of Wisdom to Lizette! They said that after teaching the lesson Lizette said, "It makes so much sense! I want those blessings! I will keep these commandments." Blessings come when we teach effectively, correctly, and clearly.

3. Eugenio. So when we last saw Eugenio, in the middle of December, he said he was going to California. So we didn't try visiting him until the beginning of January. We usually see his car outside and that means he is home. We kept not seeing his car so we didn't knock. Stupid move I know. Then on Wednesday I had the impression that we need to go KNOCK on his door. We did. A bandaged up Eugenio answered the door and let us in. He never went to California and had been here the whole time!!! On top of that, he had been in 2 car accidents! Well, one on a motorcycle. But 2 accidents! We had a great lesson with him though and then another on Saturday. He said he would try and come to church if the caretaker could watch his daughter, the daughter with cerebral palsy.

PLEASE SEND LETTERS!!!

4. Rene. So last week we had a lesson with Rene and we set a return for Sunday afternoon. He is a cool guy on the cheerleading team. The coach of the team is a member, Sis Barallardos. She has a 17 year old son also on the team named Brendon. Brendon is super cool and we took him on the lesson with us! He did super well! We answered a ton of Rene's questions. They were all answered as we taught the Plan of Salvation and asked him to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it to know if it is true. We bore powerful testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and how he will be able to receive his own answer of its truthfulness.

PLEASE SEND LETTERS!!!

Well I hope you all have a great week! PLEASE SEND LETTERS!!! Look for those daily miracles and make the decision everyday to come closer to God and Jesus Christ.

Love,
Elder Dallin Baker
